63. Executive Power

Executive Power - Vince Flynn

I tried again to find the "magic" I felt when reading the Clancy novels of the 80s and 90s. I failed again. Darn.

This is just another of those political thriller novels where the ultra-cocky super-hero CIA guy saves the world over and over.

This time, yet again, the terrorists want to obliterate the Zionist state from the planet and will stop at no ends. Yet again the uber-tech gadgets utilized by the USA come in handy and allow pieces to come together through sheer technological advantage that would otherwise, and in reality, go undetected.

I used to enjoy these kind of stories a lot. Now it just seems so superficial. I was surprised by that.
